Joey studied ballet throughout her childhood, and debuted on stage on Broadway in her early teens, playing one of the Von Trapp children in The Sound of Music.
Angela Cartwright, who played middle child Penny, had been one of the singing von Trapp children in the movie The Sound of Music.
