Spearfish Definition

Any billfish; esp., any of a genus (Tetrapturus, family Istiophoridae) of large, percoid, food and game fishes of the open seas.

A fish that has an elongated, spear like, snout. e.g. the Shortbill Spearfish (Tetrapturus angustirostris).

To fish with a spear or spear-thrusting device (spear gun)
