Ottawa has an important trade in grain and live-stock; soft coal and natural gas are found in the vicinity; the manufactures include flour, windmills, wire-fences, furniture, bricks, brooms and foundry products.
In 1907 the port received 7,542,149 gross tons of iron ore, and shipped 2,632,027 net tons of soft coal.
Three petroleum pitches and three coal tar pitches were prepared from Ashland A240 and a soft coal tar pitches were prepared from Ashland A240 and a soft coal tar pitch, respectively.
