Ancient Greek μιξο-Λυδιος (mikso-Ludios, “half-Lydian”), from μιξο- (mikso-) (from base of μιγνυναι (mignunai, “to mix”) + Λυδιος (Ludios, “Lydia”), an ancient country in Asia Minor, which gave its name to another Greek mode).
