High CD sales and the popularity of Foo Fighters tabs are proof positive that there's life after Nirvana for Dave Grohl.
During his stint as Nirvana's drummer, Dave Grohl continued to write his own music on the side.
Intimidated by Cobain's song writing talent, Grohl never felt confident enough to share his own songs with the band.
However, once Nirvana disbanded, Grohl went to work on a solo project and recorded his original songs playing every instrument and performing all the vocals himself.
This tour de force was very well received in the music community, and soon Grohl found himself putting together a band to tour with.
