The Square chapel, erected by the Congregationalists in 18J7, is a striking cruciform building with a tower and elaborate crocketed spire.
The polygonal angle turrets end in crocketed spires, and between them is a big pierced strapwork cresting.
The font stood under the tower, an octagonal bowl with richly detailed crocketed traceried gables on each face.
They have ogee arches and crocketed gables, i.e. take us forward into the C14.
