In the Le Bel-Henninger form a series of bulbs are connected consecutively by means of syphon tubes (b) and having platinum gauzes (a) at the constrictions, so that when a certain amount of liquid collects in any one bulb it syphons over into the next lower bulb.
Then take two suspended gilt pith balls and touch them (a) both against one tray; they will be found to repel each other; (b) touch one against one tray and the other against the other tray, and they will be found to attract each other.
It consists of a heavy cast-iron platform (a) mounted on four steel balls (b) which run in V guides of hardened steel.
Next let the balls A' and B' be connected together for a moment by a wire N called a neutralizing conductor which is subsequently removed.
The balls A' and B' are then practically discharged, and the above cycle of operations may be repeated.
