Ceratopsia Definition
A taxonomic infraorder within the suborder Cerapoda — herbivorous, beaked dinosaurs which thrived during the Cretaceous, in what are now North America and Asia. Early members were small and bipedal, but later forms were large quadrupeds..
Origin of Ceratopsia
New Latin, from Ancient Greek "horned faces"[script?]. One of the first named genera was Ceratops itself, which lent its name to the group, although it is considered a nomen dubium today as it has no distinguishing characteristics that are not also found in other ceratopsians.
